Southern Illinois University has been measuring individual feed efficiency as part of their bull test for many years. In 2004 we bought one of the top bulls in their bull test - he is a son of Boyd New Day out of a Traveler 71 cow. His average daily gain was 5.03 (Ratio 110), weight per day of age 3.78 (Ratio 105), and average feed efficiency 5.65 (Ratio 117)! We are very pleased with his first calves.
